And is 30 too old to learn? I never tried too hard when I was younger. I usually gave up after the first wipe out. What does it take?

I couldn't do a back flip when I could windmill a basketball. I damn sure can't now.

From reading and watching YouTube, it appears to be a trust thing. You have to trust angular momentum. If you get scared and try to bail mid air, you die.

Start out doing it into water, then post a video here when you're ready to try it on solid ground

I can do a backflip off a diving board and trampoline. I'm not trying it on the ground though.

It's easy once you learn get over the instinct to flail everywhere. You just jump up and bring your knees to your chest, physics takes care of the rest

This.^^^

I had my Nephew doing them when he was 5.Then he busted it one time and wouldn't try again.

I used to be able to do a Gainer.Jump forward and flip backward.

I can do one.

It's really not very hard, more of a committal thing and not having fear and hesitating.
