What a hater. Houston ain't the land of milk and honey. Certainly not a "real city". More like the sprawl capital.

It's not your fault that you conscuously decide to live in such an inferior locale

BR has an enormous small man's complex, but isn't ever ready to actually do anything different to combat the perceptions people have of the place.

Baton Rouge positives besides LSU...
-Capital City of the state steeped in an amazingly unique and interesting culture and food tradition, like none other in the nation.
- Centrally Located to two major and highly respected food genres in Cajun and French creole
- Lots of undeveloped land in and around downtown just begging for someone with a little vision outside the box to capitalize on.
- Low density population adjacent to downtown ready to make bank off of.
- Sits on the Mississippi River, the most powerful river in North America and a natural power plant for energy waiting to be tapped into.
-Sits in I-10 and 1-12
- Historical relevance in the War for Independence, and the Red River Campaign of the CW.
- Capital of a state that has seen some 3 foreign national flags fly over it because of how much they saw its potential for greatness.
- Right down the road from the Antebellum South in Louisiana.in all directions.
Downside.....
Flushes almost everything down the toilet because it doesn't know or value what potential it has for greatness, and just how special the area is outside of the LSU football team.

Pretty good mom & pop restaurants that I've been to so far, but I've only lived here for 6 months now. I do miss my small town Hammond though, everything I needed was just blocks away - including the bars that I could walk home from if need be.

And for the record, I enjoyed my time in dallas more than my time in Houston, thus far

Now, that's bullshite. Rail on BR all day long for what it deserves, but The LSU campus is a very pretty campus. Right outside the gates might be a different story but not the campus.
