Go to Lowes / Home Depot and get a wireless. Problem solved for under $100. Prolly under $50.

That sounds reasonable, if you'd had said $300 I'd say take a hike

I had a wireless, but, the fricker kept going off from someone down the street on the same frequency. That was in 2006, are they better now?

Call a guy named Chip Crews. Handles all the jobs on my rentals big and small. He's in Lakeview as well.

Kankles, that's the dumbest response I've ever seen on TD and that's saying a lot.

I have had problems with some of them working in two story home. If it were me having had both, I would wire if you are two story.

You need to get the ones that will transmit further.

Of course wired is better but I was just throwing it out there for OP to save some money.

Did that of course, particularly second time around. I found that if the button to ring the bell is on one floor and the Bell receiver is on a higher floor, not to mention 2 floors higher, they do not work RELIABLY.

I also found that the battery that works from the outside sending unit runs down about 2 to 3 times faster than the batteries in the bell receptor component. Yeah, I would wire for sure
