Only thing those are good for is party type situations where you have many people drinking from them.

I'll buy 2 liters of tonic for gin and tonics, but I don't drink coke. Coke is gross.

Just shake the bottle up some, it's good to go.

We do. Kids open a can of Coke and drink 1/4 of it. It's better to have 2 liters for them, they can't tell the difference and don't waste so much.

Only for Ginger Ale to mix in bourbon if I'm looking to get drunk quickly.

Most 2 liters are about the same of a single 20 oz.

half the soda ends up completely flat and undrinkable.

Maybe if you let it sit out on the counter all day with the cap off.

Every time you open and close a two liter bottle the carbonation gets about 50% weaker

I was going to say I'd be interested to know where you got this number, but since you probably pulled it out of your arse, I reconsidered.

I've bought 2 liter bottles of soda and I don't notice any drastic difference until maybe the very bottom of the bottle.

2 liters=20 oz

Or

1 oz= 0.1 liter

It's simple conversions, guess you aren't familiar with the Metric systems and math.
