Here is but one example. When resumes are sent out with equal experience and education and the only differences are traditional black sounding names and traditional white sounding names, those with traditional white names get significantly more callbacks.
Pretty easy fix to that don't you think?

Be careful. Truth in LSUTangarine threads is not permitted.

That's bullshite, cry me a damn river. The black man has more of an opportunity and actually at an advantage nowadays than they ever had if they are willing to work and not have their hands out for a freebie
Well, to be fair, a black kid growing up in a decent area has an advantage. But a kid who grows up in the ghetto with shitty influences all around him will have a hell of a harder struggle than you or I ever would to try to make something of his life.

So does a white kid in the trailer park

Yeah, let's not talk about the disparities in job opportunities and job offers and salary for equally educated and experienced blacks and whites
Yeah, I've seen some of the studies in which they use black sounding names on the same resume. It took like 50% longer for the black sounding name to get a callback, and having a white sounding name was equal to 8 years experience comparatively. It's an interesting case study, and you'd have to conclude the #1 thing an experienced AA could do to level their job callback rate is change his/her name to a "white sounding" name. It might be sad, but I'd say it's true. I'm sure employers don't consciously do it, but it's evident it does happen.
ETA: The same situation would probably apply to a white guy with neck tattoos/piercings. I think it has more to do with work-place harmony and employers wanting the employee that is least likely to rock the boat, so to speak. With charges of racism so high, I'm sure "black sounding" names are probably automatically scary for employers.

You could say that about ANY kid who grew up in a rough area. Life is what you make it.
I grew up in a very poor and crime filled neighborhood, but I knew that I didn't want to spend my life that way, and so I worked my way out of that environment. It's not hard, just takes effort.

They don't have a Jew or a Chinese running the race. Wonder why?

Black people hate themselves, their fathers walk out on their families at a much higher rate than any other race..they kill each at other at higher levels than all other race.
In the past thirty years the black family has digressed to a truly sad state. Now they have to blame every one else but themselves.
I know quit a few succesfull black men, and they all have one thing in common, a strong black father who taught them right, and taught them not to make excuses.
And the white losers and the black losers I know have one thing in common, a broken home and or a weakass father who doesn't give a shite.
Oh you gonna learn Tre....you gonna learn! (In my best Laurence Fishburne voice)

LMAO you talk about segregation like it has any bearing in today's U.S. That's why we won't move forward with race becuase black people can't get over the past and realize just how much better they have it TODAY. News flash! Nobody's holding you down except yourself!

yea, we ALL know who the real racists are in this country. It's clear as day with statements like this. Way to go champ!

It absolutely has a place in today's climate. Black people put it there. They WANT to be segregated. They WANT to be herded up and put in the same buildings, away from whites.
That kinda thing used to be racist. But not for the hypocritical BLM movement.

As a white male, I wish I had or could experience white privilege. It sounds so nice and wonderful like unicorns and social security benefits.

We fired a black guy in a wheel chair once. He was the worst employee in the history of the company. It still took six months to get everything together before we could pull the trigger though. Beat the EEOC claim & didn't even have to pay unemployment. Sad that we had to allow our company to suffer for that long just to get rid of dead weight. But Tangerine is welcome to continue on about how mistreated AAs are in the workforce.

Bingo! It's much easier to bitch, complain, and blame other people. If it were easy everyone would do it regardless of race. That's the problem with society.

They quite often provide NEGATIVE value when the come to work.

You mean you didn't grow up with millionaire parents and inherit a trust fund? What's wrong with you?

Did they include the resumes and recordings of any phone calls? I've seen some pretty awful resumes and had some phone calls where I knew 15 seconds into the call I wanted nothing to do with the ignorant sounding person representing my company.

White privilege may well exist as articulated by folks like the #blm movement.
However, the reasons for it seem to totally elude them.
For example, Blacks pretending that there is no rational reason for an employer to prefer white employees are simply not being rational. When you are hiring, you are always playing the odds a bit. You don't know the person really. You're just hoping how qualified they APPEAR to be and hard working they SEEM to be turns out to be true.
If you think employers haven't, over time, noticed certain patterns, you're out of your mind.
Bitching about it is like bitching about waiters and waitresses noticing that on the whole, blacks tip for shite.
And that doesn't even get to the reality that if I hire a white dude that turns out to be incompetent, I can fire him without so much as breaking a sweat. God help me if I need to fire a black chick. I better have a pile of paperwork on her a mile high. And even then, don't be fooled. I once had it seriously argued to me that the fact a particular black employee had a pile of counselings was proof of someone being "out to get them".
Hence, you can't fire em if they're incompetent unless you build a record, but building a record on them will be called a sign of racism too.
Yeah. Employers are totally nuts to want to deal with that shite as little as possible.
