Which type of jorts first appeared on the fashion scene?

Did the urban (mid calf) style clear the path for the rural style often spotted at trailer park social events? Or was it the opposite? To me, the urban style of jorts seems more sincere. It doesn't pretend to be what it's not. On the other hand, the rural style comes across as an attempt to dress up cut-offs.

the first jort trend during my life was started by the movie Dirty Dancing...they were rolled up to just above your knee....

Just think if there was a spin off of cargo jorts vs non cargo jorts. Lol. Nvm. Jorts are just...well...not worth a thread. Not even sure where you can find them anymore. Kmart maybe? Where can you find one of those?

Then jorts.
Then the urban shite.

I wore jorts when the were cool...but not anymore.

The status of jorts as a cultural artifact is all the more reason to dedicate a thread to them. I'm sure many reading this feel nostalgic right now.
