In the Chevy electric commercial, they play Fleetwood Mac’s “everywhere” and it gives me horrible memories.

Back when I was a beer salesman, there’s a grocery store in Rayne that uses a CD player with the same 12 songs on a loop as background music. I knew where I was in my day if I was behind or not by the tracks that played. If I heard this song, I was cutting it close on my orders.

The look on the employees faces was one of “please kill me.” I often asked why they didn’t change the CD periodically but the owner was a hard arse. I believed the song selections were a type of torture to his employees that he enjoyed to implement on them.

I went in there about a year or so ago and it was the same damn songs playing in there.

I listened to Sia - Breathe Me over and over when I was in a really sad place a few years back. That has to be the one of the most depressing and beautiful songs ever written.

Any song my unit used during memorial ceremonies for guys we lost in Iraq. Evansence’s My Immortal, Tim McGraw’s Carry On, and Amazing Grace in bagpipes plus 12 more.

For Tina Turner, it’s probably anything by Ike Turner.

It took 8 hours to get through 12 songs?

[on beating Tina Turner] Yeah, I hit her, but I didn't hit her more than the average guy beats his wife.

He said he was a beer salesman, not that he worked at the grocery store.

Jim Croce - Time in a Bottle

It’s a shitty song from a shitty time period that also just happens to remind me of a shitty time in my life as a kid.

Ode to Billy Joe had to be the most depressing song ever pressed into vinyl, especially when there was such good music coming from all directions during that time period.
It was a colossal mood killer.

Lived in a house with 4 other guys in college, and the guy who’s room was next to mine used to play Plush by Stone Temple Pilots over. And over. And over. Like 10 times in a row, no exaggeration. We finally broke the CD to get it to stop. Guy developed a raging coke habit and abruptly moved out 1 night at 4 am. frick that guy and frick that song.

Welp I'm not sharing any of my stupid sappy songs from high school and college. My goodness I can't imagine what you went through.

And thanks for your service and sacrifices

“It’s A Small World “ It brings me back to those times of dodging morbidly obese people in scooters, and people trying to run me over with baby carriages at “The happiest place on earth”.
