What kind of diet is this, Paleo?
I can't really say much because I don't know what you look like or how fat you are (no insult intended)

The mustard helps to emulsify the dressing. It wont break when it is present. You don't need much.

It's not a named diet. But pretty much clean eating. My Dr referred me because my triglycerides were 409

There is organic ketchup now.

I use the reduced sugar ketchup from Heinz. It's sweetened with sucralose (i.e. splenda) though so she couldn't have that either.

I say load your salad up with veggies and grated cheese, chop up a grilled hamburger patty on top, douse it in Catalina dressing, and prepare to be in heaven while the pounds melt off.

sucralose

Be careful of this...Sucralose, Dextrose, Maltose, Sucrose... All sugars made from corn.
The FDA is only required to print cane sugars on the Nutritional Facts label. Corn sugars must be put in the ingredients part, not required in the Nutritional Facts label

Just follow what she says. It sounds like it's going to be pricey (going to local farmers for milk and such). If you start to feel yourself swaying with it, let me know.

I think a lot about people actually being able to follow diets is if they are 'sensible' enough to actually be followed...like how much are you changing, going out of your way to do, prepwork, etc....that's why I look at them like 'lifestyle changes' I know what I can substitute for other things to still feel 'satisfied' but at the same time not depriving myself toooo much.

Definitely experiment with foods. Cauliflower mash is excellent and get a mandolin and make your own turnip fries, if you season them right and get baking them down they definitely can give you the idea of fries.....grant it, I dip them in my reduced sugar ketchup after they are all done up.

Do it.

Think of it like this, before you started this, you would have probably eaten a giant loaded cheeseburger, fries, and a mug of vodka for supper. A taco salad and water is probably 1/5 of that. By eating taco salad and catalina, you are improving your weight situation tonight 4 times over.
