Where would you go?

Let's say you are off of work for 2 months and you have the ability to go anywhere for free right now. Where would you go? What would you do? For the sake of complexity, let's keep it within the United States.
I want to plan a few trips (no more than 3 days each) and am looking for some ideas.

I don't want to commit myself to anything and be gone too long from the wife. Plus, there is a chance (small, but there) that work will call me in earlier than expected.
