The news says something like 50,000 or more people will need to find a new home.
These are refugees whose homes were destroyed or flooded.
Where will these people go?

How many people did Katrina leave homeless? Where did they go?

Other areas of Houston or Dallas

Let's just hope New Orleans will be as accommodating as Houston was after Katrina.

New Orleans owes it to Houston.

This is going to produce huge HUD program(s)

New Orleans East is basically uninhabitable because of flooding. Maybe Dallas?

50K people has got to be incorrect. The floods here last year affected over 100,000 and the population density has to be much higher in the area affected by Harvey.

Dallas looking like it will be the main resource. But housing there is tight AF so I dunno.

Fist of alll. They are not refugees
If they are, Germany loves refugees. I am sure Merkel will accept them with open arms. Let's send them there

It's just the people who can't rebuild their homes and need to move. Waaay more than that have been affected, just how many will have to move and where?

What makes you think these people want to go to New Orleans? If I was evacuating, New Orleans would be the last place I would go to during Hurricane season.

According to people on this board Baton Rouge is the place to move

Hopefully New Orleans and not Dallas and/or San Antonio.

DFW can't keep up with its own housing issue.
Not to mention the price of home anywhere north of I-30 is approaching 300-400k plus.
Unless these folks have some bad arse insurance policies, Grand Prairie, Arlington, and Mesquite will probably be the cities impacted most.
