Where to go out in Houston?

I'm going to be spending a Saturday night in Houston soon. I would like to know of any large nightclubs where someone my age (50) would not be out of place. No strip clubs and no gay bars please!

Take a cab to one of these 3 areas: Midtown, Rice Village, or Washington.
The most popular this spring is Midtown. I don't know too much about the club scene, I'm 27 and hate the club scene, but Midtown Drinkery, 3rd Floor, and Dogwood is pretty close to that atmosphere

houston's a big city ... where are you staying? ...
'the continental club' in midcity (thereabouts) and 'the big easy' near rice village have blues/texas music with a good mix of young and old ... i know nothing about nightclubs since i don't frequent those ...

check out the two i mentioned, in addition to 'goodes armadillo palace' ... if you want live music ... those will be honkeytonk/country rock/blues music venues with food nearby ...
