I appreciate the links gentlemen. I'm a pretty big Amazon fan.

It's one of those rare things that I'd like to see and touch it before I buy it... Hoping it will be around for a while, maybe a generation or two.

Let us know if you find anything. I've been casually looking for a nice classy wooden chess set for a while.

I'm thinking maybe Pearson's Luggage, but surely there are a few places?

I saw a chess set at Walmart with Mario characters for pieces. That shite was awesome.

Barnes and Noble might have a fancy one.

Little wars. It's in the shopping center where Baskin robins and that hardware store is Jefferson and Lindell.

Not in BR, but looks like they have some nice shite.

*On my phone and can't read the font to see if they have an actual store in LA.

Edit. Contact info for Cajun Chess says Olive Branch, MS. My bad.

No luck so far. Checked Pearsons, Victorias Toy Station, Little Wars and a few places at the mall.

Any other suggestions?

thanks...

It looks like that's the route I'll be taking. I wanted to touch and feel them... but it looks like that's not an option, and Staunton has a lot of options...

What specifically are you looking for and for whom are you buying? What kind of price range? Is this for display or for play? I might start off looking at house of Staunton online. A cheap vinyl or silicon set is typically best if you want it just for play and portability. Nice sets other than that can get very expensive, but they don't have to be. Typically the ornate sets are only good for display and suck to play on.

I will also recommend weighted pieces if for play.
