If you have a fire place right in the center of what is facing everything? Don't really like the feel of it right over the fire place but off center on the wall seems strange too

In the corner, on a stand, at the proper eye level for seated viewers.

Above the fireplace. I don't love that but in our living room there was just no other way to do it that kept it central but out of the way.

exactly this. I could mount it above the fireplace but I'm not doing that while I live in an apt

I have built ins on both sides of my fireplace with the same 55" Samsung tv on each side. Sounds trashy but looks really good. Thinking about going and getting one more to mount over my mantle.

No shite. This is where discerning members of the OT place portraits of our family patriarchs.

Had to wall mount as previous owner put holes in the wall for wiring and I didn't feel like dealing with repairing dry wall. Not a fan of over the fireplace TV's.

Awkward angle. I'm not I the center of the room when I took that pic. It's centered to the furniture. It's a little strange with the wall space and the fireplace at an angle, but it's center if you see the whole room.

I thought that was probably the case with only one side of the room visible.
