We are looking at places in CO. I am tired of the heat. I would like to wake up and see something beautiful ( like mountains). Looking seriously at Ft. Collins. About 100,000 people, college town and 95% same race as me. I can deal with the liberals just tired of the other BS that the south has.

Haines, AK. Outdoor center of the universe.

World class heli-skiing and snow machining, fresh and salt water fishing, bears, moose, deer, mountains, coast, connected to the "outside" via highway and ferry system to Juneau, cheaper land, fewer people, unmatched scenery. 33 miles from Canada, 70 from Juneau and almost on the border of Glacier Bay National Park.

Looks like that place is full up with illegals from South of the border! No thanks.

Eastern Tennessee.

Great four seasons and not too brutal of a winter. Generous, sincere people. Great fly fishing (South Holston river), beautiful scenery (Smoky Mountains).

I'd like to say Colorado but can't imagine being 70's and dealing with snow/ice for months. Maybe will just have Colorado condo and Fla beach condo to alternate. I should have the money to do both

Before I retired, the wife and I took a few trips to different places we were interested in. Down in the Keys was the top winner, but I don't speak spick.

Best place for us to retire, were our family is.

Working on a hostel/sports bar on the Nicaraguan coast. That's cheap and I'll spend time there no matter what.

If I get what I want for my company in a couple years, then also have a large ranch that'll likely be in Texas/Oklahoma region. Not stuck on that region though.

Edited to add: Definitely traveling the world quite a bit as well. I could never get enough of constantly traveling and exploring.

Anywhere on West Coast is just crazy expensive, if you have that kind of jack then international would be more appealing I think. We had always planned on the coast in Texas somewhere around Rockport but having a weekend home there for the last few years I'm not sure I could handle the crowds in the summer and the snowbirds in the winter for very long. Multiple locations has taken the lead, have about 10 years to find them.

I retired this past Dec 31st. Born and raised here in Opelousas. All of my family is here. I have thought in the past about moving but know I never will. My hunting and fishing friends are here, my camps are in Pecan Island and at Larto. Not interested in starting over.
