You just saw the third and fourth states, as well as the capital of this country get aboard. So how long will it be before all 50 are on board? 5 years? 10? 20?

Nationwide? Definitely closer to 20.

It will always be a state issue and there are states like Mississippi and Alabama that will never legalize it.

Once all the states that legalize it overdose on the reefer you'll see...

I imagine it will be mostly decriminalized in 10 years. Will probably be longer before it is fully legal everywhere.

When states start seeing the tax revenue they will all legalize it...it's all about money. Less than 10 years.

When Cali legalizes in 2016 that will start the biggest movement of other States legalizing in our history most likely.
The amount of money the State will make off the taxing with how popular it is in Cali will drop peoples jaws.

The Bible Belt will be far behind because "What about the children??!!!"

Oh for sure, it will be all up north for the most part over the next 10 years. Hell you could see almost every single northern and NE State be legal before one in the South.
But I think at that point you'd see Federal Law being changed so it wouldn't matter for the South.

Cali isn't going that much of a difference. Everyone that lives there and smokes already gets MMJ. Weed stores are already like Circle Ks out there, on every block!

I tend to agree with this.
But I think within maybe 25-30 years, Bama and Miss. may legalize it.
I'm pretty confident that La. will be the first (or close to first) "Deep South" state to legalize.

Uh no, quite the opposite, how popular it is now is why it will make such a difference. Money from taxation. State makes nothing now. Look at how much Colorado has made already, just imagine California.
It is always ALL about money.

Are you saying they don't tax the MMJ dispensaries?
Posted on 11/6/14 at 8:39 pm to LSU_2012
Depends on if the fed reduces their classification of it, if they don't, it will never be legal nationwide.
Posted on 11/6/14 at 8:42 pm to lsu480
What percentage of Californians get MM? Now imagine if all the people who smoked could buy it and the purchases/sales were taxed.

It's sad that the common reasoning for legalization is for more extortion and not because it is recognized that people own their bodies and decisions.
