Murphy's (R.I.P.) '92.
Damn there were a lot of fights in that place.

What man throws a drink? I bet it was a wine cooler.

Leaving the LSU-BAMA game when Lee threw the interception in the endzone in OT in Tiger Stadium. I think that was 08? Some BAMA fan grabbed my wife by the arm when she was trying to leave the heavily BAMA section we were sitting in. I don't think I had ever before hit something as hard as I hit that guy's jaw.

those type of bars a lot.
I am 42 but I am training with the UFC/Affliction/Tap Out crowd daily. I can only imagine these types when they get a little alcohol in them at those types of bars.

Does breaking a guy's wrist count? If so, about 4 years ago.
Before that? Sometime in high school.
I'm normally able to just intimidate people before fighting is necessary.

i've never seen one of these dudes do well in a bar fight. but i have seen a bunch of them get sucker punched or hit with a bottle. i think wearing the shirt is just an invitation to get hit if a fight breaks out.

I have been in a few "One hitta quittas" and been jumped a couple times. I've also been cold cocked and had my arse whooped once but too old to get into all that shite anymore.

That's my strategy too. I try to make them think they don't stand a chance, and Mardi Gras last year was the last time that didn't work

Never seen that. I would fricking cry for so much which may be a good thing since I don't really go to bars to watch UFC. We PPV it.
We have been known to start a grappling session during a UFC fight though.

I'm 26
Last fight I was 21
Dude was a quasi-buddy/acquaintance
he pissed blood the next day because of how hard I hit his kidney
I mostly avoided them, which is why I have never lost one. I'm not going to get into something that I know I won't come out on top of.

I think I have realized that a real fight is the ones where you aren't positive how its going to turn out....I've been in a few , but not in 30 years. I got real diplomatic as I got older and slower.

Got sucker punched in Calloway Gardens, circa 1982. I was 15 or 16. Last time I've thrown dukes/had them thrown at me.
My lil bro and I came close to throwing dukes with some guys at the Indy Bowl when LSU played Notre Dame. It was over a courtesy/non-courtesy move of letting someone out in a lane of traffic.
Would have been classic....you, your lil bro, and your dad fist fighting another group of men in a Shreveport stadium parking lot, while mom and the wives sat in the car and watched. NF.
I only have one close friend that's been in a fight as an adult. It was at the cigar game, so it would have been 1988 (friend would have been 33 at the time).
A douche MUCH bigger than my friend (seriously, he looked like he should have been on the O line) took a swing at another friend of ours, and instead, hit friend one's wife wife. Very bad move. I'd known this guy since we were 19, and knew he was strong/tough, but he was also the quiet type. I always wondered what would happen to someone that provoked him to rage. I no longer wonder, and it wasn't pretty. Happened in the G lot. Cops came, witnesses told the police what happened. The cops ask both my friend (the arse kicker) and the big douche (arse kickee) if they wanted to press charges. arse kickee said "no". arse kicker said "I alreay did".
Seriously, it was scary to watch. Every time my friend hit him, another tooth flew out, or another cut opened up.
If you've ever seen Lonesome Dove, it was like Captain Call in Ogalala, except there was no branding iron involved. Much like little Newt, I thought he was likely to have killed that man.

Did you go to Sal's much? I am guessing by the time frame of you getting sucker punched in Calloway Gardens, you grew up in the same era I did.

They make headgear for not getting punched in the face but you end up catching even near misses. I have broken my nose twice and a flush shot makes it bleed like a faucet so I have to wear it, but damn you eat a lot of punches.
I am actually going to my first boxing class this week. I am an old fart but I think it will be fun and the cardio will be great. I am going to a boxing gym and not some health club so this won't be some class run by a woman.
