When men worked and women took care of the family. Are we better or worse?

I have no personal reference to it as at a time when this was still in place, my mom worked, and so as a kid I was fortunate enough to get dropped off at a lady’s house who watched me until my mom picked me up after work, but still I feel like I missed out on some real time with my mom as a result in my more formative years.

That being said, it seems to me that life sure was a whole lot simpler and society significantly much better off, if for no other reason that at least the kids were being supervised by someone who cared about them, not to mention life more affordable and less hectic and society ate a lot better too.

I realize even questioning society abandoning these designated roles as a good thing will land you in hot water with many, especially the “She-Woman’s Men Hating Club” who care little for the damage it’s had on the nuclear family over the years when it’s not an option for most people who depend upon 2 incomes to pay for all this crap in life, but maybe we could be honest for a minute and just answer it.

Has 2 people in the workforce proven to be a net positive or negative for society and in raising well rounded children into adulthood?

Yes we were better off when one person could make enough money to pay for a family while the other cared for the children. I am not talking highly educated people, a average Joe not qualified to go to college could provide for a family, buy a house and have money and time to take cross country vacations.

Boomers forget that this was NORMAL and they are the ones that essentially changed that.

Families were in a much better position when both parents didn’t have to work!!

The healthier families these days are the ones that have one working and providing and the other taking care of kids during the day. Both should help when both are home when necessary.

Of course we were better off when one parent could stay home to raise children and afford to have a comfortable life.

That said, it’s rooted in companies figuring out that they could raise prices with both parents working post WWII.

One of the biggest reasons our society is collapsing is the death of the nuclear family where a husband works to provide for the family while the wife stays home to manage the home and children.

Almost none of my friends moms worked when I was growing up. I didn't know anyone that went to daycare/after school care

I feel like my family is better off with my wife at home. I’m very lucky to be in a position where it’s financially feasible.

Wall Street and corporate America fricked over the typical American family requiring both parents to work. Government and Elites are happy for Average joes to fight about left and right, guns and trannys, and woke vs conservative as long as they stay busy and don’t realize both sides are getting screwed

One of the things I’m most grateful for was my wife stayed home with both our kids when they were little. And when she did go back to work she got a job in the school office so even then she was home with the kids.

President Richard Nixon removed the gold standard in 1971. should be added to this graphic.

made it so that we could print money with no material of value backing it.

It’s really not.

Pre-WWII, women were in the home almost exclusively. When women had to take over jobs as men went off to war and then men returned, they figured out they could raise prices with more than one income to a household.

Add to it supply shortages and high demand in post-war, it was a perfect storm. The two parent working household began to escalate from there.

One of the most insidious lies sold to the American public by the left was that being a stay at home mom was something terrible and the only way a woman could be “happy” was to work all day at the widget factory for accompany that doesn’t give a shite about her all so she could pay someone else to raise her children.
