Through a stroke of luck, I already have their college money set aside. Assuming I don't get hammered in the stock market, they choose in state schools, and my financial advisor isn't a total dumb arse, they should be set for college. That is why I think their teenage years have to be less expensive if I don't buy them cars.

$1,000 per month, $12,000 a year, comes to just under $50 per day. That's not at all unreasonable for someone to be responsible for your child.

You cannot even hire a Hispanic day laborer with no tools for that.

Dude, that is what it costs around here. I would love to pay less. I think I if I looked around hard I might be able to find something as low as $850, but we really like our kid's day care.

Ummm that's pretty much the going rate.

Just shocked because that is not the going rate for NWLA.

I just put my 9 month old in private school daycare and it is only $600/month.

I only pay about $560 per month per kid here; grateful for the lower cost of living. I'm also not planning to fork over $30 grand for a wedding. That's absurd. Or at least I was raised to believe such.

But I'm OT poor, so me don't know

Right now, my kids are pretty damned expensive. I can imagine it gets worse, but that's hard to think about at the moment. On top of daycare, we're still figuring out the finances to cover our son's craniosynostosis surgery that's happening this month.

Yeah. Make a wikipedia page where they warn you its an open edit and then cry when someone edits a joke into it. Public officials sure don't have a sense of humor. Not saying which public official is or isnt but I have a feeling some are hiding deep secrets and jokes can hit too close to home.

You need to realize you live in Denham Springs. People living in affluent neighborhoods in large cities could have double your cost of living.
