I was bored last night and watched Jurassic World for the first time.

You know, the movie about dinosaurs beinbrought to life.

Entire new species of dinosaurs being created for shits and giggles.

Guys talking to dinosaurs.

But the most unrealistic thing I saw in the whole movie:

A millennial changing a battery, starting a 20 year old jeep, and then driving it even though it has a MANUAL transmission.

What are you saying?

Signed,
Millennial that can change a battery and drive a stick.

If we could bring dinosaurs back, fricking with their genetic and being able to train smart ones is certainly possible.

Also, the movie pretty specifically says they have experience repairing old cars. And there are plenty of parents who make their children learn manual as a rule

If a millennial doesn't know how to provide basic maintenance to an automobile and/or drive a stick, that's more a reflection on their daddy not taking the time to teach them.

Luckily my dad taught me basic maintenance and how to drive a manual (my first vehicle).

What's the top age for millenials? My son (28) drove a stick from 16 - 27. He did have to call his father to find out where the spare was right before he sold the car, however.

Changing a car battery isn't exactly the most complicated thing in the world. I was able to figure it out just using intuition.

Wouldn't that be the fault of Gen X and their subpar parenting skills?

This.

I thought it was going to be the surprise that all a 20 year old car that has been sitting an rotting in a garage needed was a battery to run flawlessly

I knew a guy from Lydia who had a very similar Jeep. He and his dad had refurbished it very well, and we're looking to sell it around 1991/92. I briefly considered buying it. Must have been you who bought it. ??

Is being able to change a battery somehow difficult? If you just look at it for less than 30 seconds I think anyone with a brain could figure it out.

They did at least make it idle, stumble, and generally run like the gas was shite.

Which makes it even more unlikely that that kid was capable of taking off without stalling

So if I pick 10 millenials, you would be willing to bet more than 50% of them could do it.

I'm talking twittering, hair flipping, SJWing, vaguely bisexual millenials.

Serious question...any solid reasoning why I should learn how to drive a stick other than some country/old person bullshite?

Slamming through the gears in a car with zero performance.
