Last shave.....
Vintage Gillette "Fat Handle" Tech (1936-1940)
Geo F Trumpers Lime Shave Cream
Jack Black Cooling Balm After.
I usually prep with just cheap hair conditioner and hot water and hot towel.
I went off the DE Safety Razor deep end 2-3 years ago. So downvote me if you want.

The only thing I will add to this thread is that I find a basic can of Barbasol to be far better than any of the more expensive shaving cremes I have tried.

Badger hair brush, can't remember the name of the cream I use. I use a feather razor and blades. Then I use some Neutrogena post shave balm. If I don't put that then use lotion for the next day or so then I'll get bumps.

Warm water and a safety razor. The skin where my beard grows is now impervious to razor burn, cuts, and fat women sitting upon it.

Go cheaper. Hot shower and a bar of Ivory Soap. Smear the soap on like deodorant on your face and shave. when it stops being slick, reapply. Ivory is as slick as owl shite.

What conditioner do you use for your beard

Before kid-
Hot shower and then a hot lather with the green Proraso cream using a badger brush. Shave with DE razor using feather blades. Clubman aftershave
After kid and amputating a portion of my nostril with safety razor:
Braun electric self cleaning.

I usually set up in front of a soft lighted mirror and smile at myself in various poses while assessing my beard. I shave about every 3rd day. I gently splash hot water on my chiseled jaw and handsome cheeks (upper ones). I use an economic approach to shaving with less expensive Barbosol and 3 or 4 bladed inexpensive razors bought in a bulk pack.
I shave using gentle strokes starting from the neckline upward to the jawline. Then I approach the sideburns and cheeks and shave toward my prominent Normandy nose and Elvis-sequel lips. I usually pause and "sang" a few lines of Blue Suede Shoes or Love me Tender before I finish up. After the refreshing shave I will rub just a tad of warm water on my hands across my model-like smooth face and dab a terrycloth hand towel to soak up the remaining moisture.
I finish up with a few more admiring glances at my shaven countenance and move on for the day.

I use a safety razor, badger brush, proraso shave cream and still get razor burn. Sucks, but its better than those five bladed razors that would destroy my skin.

On the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

I have a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shave my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum, it's breathtaking, I suggest you try it

On another topic, my beard is still a bit patchy. Does anyone recommend any products to help fill it in or are these all a scam?
