I started that one last fall then forgot about it

I love some fictional horror. I didn’t realize until after I watched archive 81 that I’d listened to it years ago. I liked the black tapes, Tanis, and something about a last movie too. I’ll have to go back through my library to see the rest.

The rest are either girly or crime but I love morbid, Hollywood crime scene, and sometimes wine and crime. Oh, and trashy divorces, though I don’t think that’s a very OT one.

I alternate between lots of podcasts and audiobooks while at the barn and in the car, so it depends on which kick I’m on at any moment.

Oh, and if I like the topic I like timesuck.

Favorite overall: Mike Duncans's "Revolutions" and "History of Rome".

Age of Conquest: Kings and Generals, freakonomics, hardcore history, and JRE are all very good as well.

- JRE
- Hardcore History (It’s mentioned many times here for a reason. It’s outstanding. If you’ve ever considered buying them, just pull the trigger. You’ll listen to them many times over. The Ghosts of the Ostfront episodes alone are worth the $75 or whatever.)
- Darknet Diaries
- Slow Burn
- Song Exploder
- WTF

Carl Panzram is where I cut my teeth on a trip to Mirimar beach and is still probably one of my favorites.

In on page 4, and not reading the whole thing to see if I’ve been beaten to the punch, but the Meateater trivia podcasts are an awesome way to kill a <3 hour drive. If longer, the meat eater podcast in general is great. Ted Nugent was on yesterday and made for an awesome 2+ hour challenge of what you think is the status quo on conservation in general.

Bear Grease is the end all be all of outdoor Southern culture. It combines all things hunting, language, and lifestyle. “Death of a bear hunter” is a fascinating episode to start with no matter who you are. Outside of that episode, you probably won’t find it that interesting unless you’re from south of the Mason Dixon.

Clay Newcomb is an smart/articulate dude with a knack for storytelling.

I'm a history guy and enjoy many of the one already mentioned.

One I haven't seen mentioned but is very well done is Fall of Civilizations podcast. I've learned a lot about the ancient world due to this podcast. Some of the episodes also have YouTube videos that go along with them.

Late Kick with Josh Pate. Hands down the best college football podcast. This dude has his finger on the pulse of real CFB fans and it’s not even close. He preaches. Very fair and non biased. Extremely knowledgeable. Check it out. It’s even great in the off-season.
