Mine not very different from yours. For years after passing my boards, I was a behavioral health practitioner sitting and waiting my turn behind a HORRIBLE clinical director at what I thought was going to be my end all, be all dream job. 6 years I waited for that train wreck to retire only yo find out as her time was dwindling they were talking w a shiny new hire that they felt was better than that schmuck that had been playing second fiddle all those years.

I wasn't fired, but it was made very clear my time there was going to get worse and worse and that I'd never get my shot, so I applied elsewhere.... it was horrifying. My son was 3 months old at the time, and I went from just about never praying to praying like crazy not to fail my family.

I got a job withing 2 days of looking... a place that added onto an existing facility and three the kitchen sink to get me. Made clinical director of that local clinic a few months in and now sit here today chief director of the whole damn company.... 6 clinics throughout the state and counting.

The way it all happened was so beyond perfect down to the minute timing it feels like. Me and my wife still occasionally talk about how someone was clearly guiding and looking out for me/us.

Cheers to bigger and better brother

Mrs M leaving the hospital with nearly pristine lungs after a month in ICU with CoVid, double pneumonia, and being twice intubated.

Many OT prayers made on her behalf were heard and answered. At least one from Europe.

What about the good people who are the subject of much prayer yet stiil have bad outcomes? And is prayer like a petition drive .:: things are going to be bad unless God gets enough “signatures” from concerned parties to step in and fix things …and if so what’s the magic number?

I was driving with a group of friends to go on an ATV ride. One of the people was having an anxiety attack and didn’t want to go. We got stuck in traffic and missed the tour. I was pissed. The person that didn’t want to go confided that she was praying the whole time we wouldn’t make it. She said it was an answered prayer. I said I considered that she put a hex on me. What about when one person”s prayer causes pain or distress to another??

Not trying to be a smart arse but I have a lot of questions about prayer

Not a coincidence. I had a very low spot in my career and some personal financial things going on in 1988. Wife tells me we are expecting on a Monday and wants to be a stay at home Mom. Financial panic sets in on a Tuesday night. Wednesday my Dad calls me and tells me Dow Chemical has been trying to track me down for a while about a position they have in Plaquemine and since I moved out of state they could not locate me. They found my Dad because we have a rare last name. The application I had put in was at least six months before this episode. God had a hand in that. Congratulations!!

Well, Matthew 18:19 says it’s just 2 people praying needed.
“Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth concerning anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in Heaven.

John 15:7 and 2 chronicles 7:14 says just one person if you do it the right way.
“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Matthew 21:22
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”

There was a large study by Templeton on prayer and sick people, and if they recovered. There was no difference in between the 2 groups, prayed for and not prayed for. But amongst the praying group the sick people who knew they were being prayed for recovered less often, than those who did not know they were being prayed for.

Two years ago, I was down to my last few hundred dollars at the same time my house's air conditioning quit working and my vehicle was on its last legs.

A volunteer at the animal shelter where I was working started a Go Fund Me for me. The Curtis family from Many contributed enough to it for me to get a vehicle and get the air fixed.

I didn't know what I was going to do.

I am a 70 year old practicing catholic. Lost one my hearing aids the other day. Was gonna cost me at least 2k( wife and I on fixed budget) so it was gonna hurt. I had been putting off a donation for the building fund at church. Randomly picked up the form and began filling it out. While filling it out my wife finds the hearing aid( mind you we turned hous upside down twice looking for it. It was in a place we never would have found it. Small incident but The Lord works that way.

It is. The world is full of people with similar stories who didn't pray or prayed to a different god.

It’s really perplexing, surprising, and a little disappointing that a good portion of these post are peoples strongest case of answering prayer is the one that took them from lower middle class to upper middle class, allowing them to get the fully loaded Tahoe.

I hope these people get some perspective and realize how truly privileged their lives are.

My brother had petit mal epilepsy from age 5-12. I remember my mom driving him to Dallas multiple weekends. He would have to stay up for 24+ hours for EEGs and Brain monitoring/testing while he would sleep in the hospital. This was a tough 7 years for our family - we kept being told there was nothing they could do and no "cure".

After 7 years of TONS of hospital trips, sleepless nights, etc. our family ended up going to church one Sunday, on a day where they were blessing the special needs with holy water and prayer. My dad brought my brother up there to get blessed by the Priest. 7 days later, his epilepsy was totally gone, and he has never had an epileptic episode since. He's 24 now
