What's up with the mega church right off the interstate around Hammond?

I pass it all the time heading out of town and it's always empty. Never any cars there. You'd think there'd be at least a few during the day for people who work there.

There seems to be a few more along the interstate and none ever look like they finished budding them. Always looks half assed.

Half assed churches for a half baked theology.

Used to be a ton of people who would go there. Don't think they have as many followers anymore. Growing up I knew a few people who went, seemed a little too cultish for my taste.

Its shutdown, I haven't seen any activity around it in a long time. The name of it escapes me, I will remember it eventually. I know a few people that went there checking it out. I also used to work with a guy that was a member and by everything I heard that place was a cult.

What makes it cultish more so than other churches (big or small)? I know nothing of the place, just curious.

They all started going to church of the king off 59 by abita. That place is ridiculous.

had a roommate that got suckered in. he could never afford rent or bills so i asked him about it one day. he said that they told him that it said in the Bible that 80% of his pay should go to the "church". i told him he needed to get the hell out of there and fast.

it was a couple that ran it.....they both drove $100,000+ vehicles

It got real big real quick somehow...had a friend that was coaxed into attending one Sunday. He said there were weirdos running up and down the aisle with trash bags "catching demons". Lots of music to hype up the congregation, then hit em with a slow song for the offering plate. He said people didn't wait for the collectin plate to make it around- they'd literally run up and throw the money at the stage.

Mid 2000's Harvest was all over campus at SLU. Place looks rundown now - guess everyone ran out of money. There's a reason why Jesus went on record for 10%...

I think I did hear that, I know they were shady. Astricks was still greatness though.
