sure the cheap plastic lenses are out there too, but you don't need to spend $150 on a pair of oakleys to get good lenses.

I agree with your point, but it depends. Some cheapo shades cloud up very easily and are often extremely uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time, and I've never had that with the Ray Bans I've owned. I had my Ray Bans for several months and wore them daily until they were stolen out of my truck; after that, I bought some cheapos from Walgreens that cloud up on me and start to hurt my ears after about 30 minutes, and the shading is odd on the lens so that it's like I can't ever get it clean.

I will say that that while I agree that the high dollar shades aren't exactly worth it in the general sense, they are if you wear them daily and for extended periods of time. At that point, it all evens out.
