Just because you pay $15k a year to go to a predominantly white school with other rich kids doesn't mean you get a better education. It means your parents didn't want to move and they could afford it. Coming from an out of state high rated public school system, I found myself much smarter than the catholic league kids from Baton Rouge at LSU.

Yeah, because myself and all my other STA grads with degrees aren't "real college" students.

I know a lot of people who could easily afford to send their kids to any private school they wanted, but instead sent them to Caddo Middle Magnet and Caddo Magnet High School.

Unfortunately, they get a great education and hightail it to Dallas, Austin, or Houston as soon as they are out of college. I don't blame them one bit, but it is a shame to lose our best and brightest to Texas. But that's a different topic.

I went to CMHS, and I'm smart as frick now. JK, I did have a great experience there, and it is a great school though. I laughed when I went to LSU, and my BR friends were talking about paying 15-20k /yr for high school.

STA grads tend to do very well at LSU. That's a fact for last 10-15 years at least.

Ascension parish would pull families in from all over the place with a magnet school. It would improve things.

Make the new pville high a magnet school or something

Now a days you never have to step on a HS campus in Ascension parish... You can take your HS courses at RPCC and finish in 4 yrs with a HS Diploma and a 2 yr Degree from RPCC.

I was in a be magnet school and ascension tag at different times growing up. No comparison. Tag isnt even close to the same.

How old are you? Schools have changed significantly since we were in school. Not a fair comparison IMO.
