Here are some facts about Africa that you probably didn't know:

quote:

1. Africa is booming

Africa has been the second-fastest-growing region in the world over the past 10 years, with average annual growth of 5.1 per cent over the past decade, driven by greater political stability and economic reforms that have unleashed the private sector in many countries.

How about 5.1% average annual growth over the past 10 years?

For the sake of comparison, the Asia-Pacific region had 4.8% average annual growth over the same period. Crazy, right? TIA.

It's probably best that their resources stay in the ground. They'd be worse than the Middle East.

So the white African... would he be considered as an African American?

My local rotary club is always asking for money to send over there to build water wells. They always have these pictures of the people drinking out of staginc puddles of water. I've never been over there but why the frick can't we just send them some directions on how to dig a hole till you reach water and stop walkin 800 miles with a bucket on your head just to get water?

Great post.

It's clear the posters here have a predetermined outlook on what Africa is and will use any story of corruption as a justification to that bias.

They won't do the same to their own tho. It's logically irresponsible and dishonest.

Africa is going to be a major player and prominent continent in 50-100 years as they get further Way from the ills of colonialism. I'm excited for their future. African immigrants out perform ALL other immigrants in this country...by a long shot, yet posters will continually look over that...looks like they make have predetermined biases towards people of African descent....#doalittlereading #interactwithpeopledifferentthanyou

Your "enlightenment" hub, Europe, is steadily on the decline and will be a wasteland in the next 50-100 years. Do we really want to follow that nationalism wave? Look what it had done to Europe. It's not safe, everyone hates each other, the economies are shot, they economies are not sustainable without a union yet they are eager to break away from the union, there are piles of debt, and there are NO valueable natural resources. That place is a waste.

Don't get me started on the Middle East --- they are the unfortunate byproducts of Europes infatuation with nation building and ruyard kiplings burdens. It has not work. Oil is all they have and the infighting looks like jt make take over all that. There is no stability.

One by product of global warming is that Canada's inhabited lands will now be useable for living. Canada has plentiful resources and is pribably swinging up too. And more importantly, they will take the great immigrants we don't want to take and they will make themselves the next great hub.

You're conflating two different ideas here.

African immigrants probably don't out perform Asian or Indians but they do out perform black Americans that have been here for a long time. It's what happens when you take an ambitious person and put them in a setting that's more conducive to success. Africa is a tribal continent with mostly unstable and/or corrupt central governments. That's why they won't succeed. And if you think colonialism is dead, you should think again. China is about to rape that continent like you've never seen.

Africa is a huge continent so progress varies. But I'll just throw this out there. Nigeria is the second largest economy in Africa and by all accounts should be the continental power but it is an absolute fricking disaster. Over 85% of its annual GDP comes from being a rentier state (oil exporter) which is horrible mismanaged. There is no secondary industry capabale of coming close to support its citizens. The level of corruption within government surpasses anything seen in the Western world with leaders bloating the bureaucracy with his ethnic brethren to the behest of the rest of country.

And they just elected a former military general as President who successfully staged a government coup two decades ago.

Do you actually believe the nonsense that comes out of your mouth?

Europe is unsafe because of incessant globalism and taking on refugees that want to destroy Europe and form a caliphate. Nationalism is a byproduct of that. Goddamn, man....#doalittlereading .

I will say that I enjoy the company of Africans over the NO and Detroit residents you're referring to.

They may suck at competent governance, but some great human beings in my limited experience.

105.1 percent of very close to zero is still very close to zero, even if you do it ten times.

For instance:

0.1 * 1.051^10 = 0.164

Isn't it amazing what those imbecilic Europeans did with "NO valuable natural resources?"
