What's a good "grown up" drink to order?

I'm a mich ultra guy thru and thru but I'd like to acquire a taste for something "professional". I haven't done liquor since college so I have no idea where to start.

My husband drinks either scotch on the rocks or old fashioneds. And he is pretty professional and grown up. I drink vodka gimlets.

Order what ever you like. Just be sure it's appropriate for where you are. I go with sailor jerry and ginger ale.
