What would the OT do in this situation

Last night some friends and our SO's get together for a BBQ. Watch the game. Normal Saturday festivities. We get fairly hammered. The night is still young. So we go to the bar.

No one is on the pool table when we get there. A buddy of mine wants to play teams. Given we are all pretty mediocre players. So we start busting up some balls. This group of guys and a lady come in and sit at the high top nearest the pool table.

The hovering begins. We had three games on the table. They throw up two behind us. Nbd. Older fella approaches me about them playing against us next. I said " maybe. Let's see what happens." The game we were playing wasn't even close to over. Two shots later his wife comes over and starts to ask about getting on. Then. When I'm about to win the fricking game. Guy comes back and asks if we were still on the same game. All this happened within gives minutes. My buddy is pissed off at this point. Tells the guy we don't wanna fricking play them. Wait or leave. Guy starts mouthing off. My buddy asks him if he wants to go outside after a knuckle check. Then this guys wife starts talking shite. Which leads to one of the girls from our group to get into it. shite was really getting good. I really didn't want to get kicked out as I frequent this place a lot. Well. The old frickers bucked down. We walked off the table. They left soon after.

They were the assholes right?
