I've recently been offered to take over family business. I've never wanted to and my dad didn't either but it's been difficult for my parents to sell their manufacturing business and they want me to take over.

It's in Ohio and not an extreme owners draw yearly but lots of equity in business and property(some pieces of equipment are over 500k)

What would you do in comparison to current work? North vs south,etc...

At what point does climate and proximity to good weather/beaches become factors?

I hope to become a corporate attorney one day. I hate the north, but I don't hate it enough to turn down a job that pays great (100K plus) money. I wouldn't mind living in New York

I would move to Ohio if I could double my annual salary.

By North do you mean the northeast and the midwest or the entire north half of the country?

Yeah, I got that your situation is Ohio, specifically, but I wasn't sure if you were trying to have a more general thread.

I'd move to Detroit for the right price. It might be 800k per year but there's always a price

So much money that I could fly home every week and autonomy that I could be gone for a week or so at a time.

Ahh just forget it.

Yes I would live in Dayton for 500k and retire 15 years early and move. I'm sure there's a decent area around Dayton. It's one of the few cities I haven't been to in Ohio. Spent plenty of time in Cleveland, Columbus, Akron, Canton

Dayton is okay. It's southern Ohio so a slightly warmer winter but not enough to make much of a difference.

I just dont how many people ITT have experienced a northern winter?

I used to live in Ohio..

For 3 months (minimum) its dark by 6pm. Bitter cold. Windy. And there is nothing to do.Ugh just the thought of living that way again makes my stomach turn
