Do you know people who live in BR just for LSU football?

Sounds like the dumbest thing ever.

I would hate it be so much of a sheep and devoid of any personality or independent thought to the point I based where I lived on that placing being considered "it" or "hot".

I live in Jacksonville now, and did during the 90's. A lot of the upswing is from the presence of a NFL team. Great place to live!

I moved to BRLA about that time.
Places I was considering and people were suggesting I go we're Athens, Atlanta and Columbia, SC. Early 90's lots of talk about Atlanta and I recall Elton John talking about how he bought a house there.
Also recall lots of people going to Portland and Seattle.
This was early 1990's

Only been the last 10 years, if that. Closer to 6-7 years. You see a real change around the 2010 flood.

I lived in Cary, NC (Raleigh) from 2000-2002 and it was rated the #3 best place to live in the US.

The town had great schools, parks, highly educated residents and high paying jobs.

Then the tech bubble burst and many had to leave (including myself) but it is still a great place to live.
