I can only speak about the ones in AZ and Cali and while they are very poor with shitty houses and dogs run across the roads the people there all own acres and the neighborhoods are 100% safe. I would much rather live there than in a poor area in an urban environment like a a trailer park or "the hood".

Caracas, Venezuela. Got pick pocketed downtown. Lost passport, license, cash. Went to embassy to get another passport. Was told I needed a picture ID to prove I was who I said I was. Fortunately, in my briefcase, I found my PADI divers license that had my picture on it. Got shook down at the airport because I didn't have an entry stamp in my new passport. frick that place.
