It was not a problem since we never had the option to have one. Folks have always done with what they had.

Much more enjoyable times than now, less stress, closer to your friends and family.
We also didn't have Televisions until I was 7 or 8. Black and white, 12" screens, only 2 channels and they shutoff at 10 pm.
We didn't have telephones until I was around 10 and the line (party line) was shared by several different numbers. If you were quiet, you could pick up the phone and hear what your neighbors were saying.
Radios were AM only and you could only pick up WWL in the country. I remember sitting on the floor on Saturday nights listening to LSU games.
Those were really "The Good Ole Days.

As a teenager, when you asked for a girls number it wasn’t her number but her parents number.

Life on the phone screen seems to be more interesting than real life nowadays.

Smartphone is great when stuck in doctors office, airport stuff like that. We spend far too much time on them outside of those type scenarios though.

You had to pay a bum way too much to buy you a penthouse which you then hid in an old car in the woods

We weren't allowed to answer the wall mounted rotary phone as children - for adults only.

Thought the push button phone was the cat's meow

All BS aside, the only reason I’m rocking an IPhone 6 is because I need it for Tigerdroppings. I also need Wi-Fi for the full experience because I’m not paying for a data plan. I’m cheap and at 43 the old man in me is getting stronger.

Smart phones came to the forefront around my junior-senior year of high school.

I’d rather not have one. I can still remember what it was like prior to them.

Everyone seemed happier, more engaged in the world around them.

We do not need to be as connected as we are now. I’d take a world without internet in a fricking heartbeat.

People forget just how much boredom and waiting there was. It’s bad to be constantly distracted like we are now, but the nostalgia for the old days drastically understates just how much boredom and tediousness used to be baked into every day life.

People were much more present though and I miss that so much.
