I'm confused...is your former attorney refusing to finalize your divorce or you ex-wife's attorney refusing to finalize?

Can you do it on your own? Sure, you can do it on your own. Should you? Absolutely not. Bite the bullet and hire a lawyer to help you finish it out. You will avoid legal pitfalls that you know nothing about, and you will have peace of mind. You probably don't know all of the rules involved...and imo it would be a mistake to go it alone.

actually sounds par for the course to me, the billing clock stops when the case is settled, so why rush things?
