Haven't heard anything about it until tonight.

Are any of you seeing the effects? All the gas stations around are out.

It's used to power most vehicles and plenty of small motors. It's been around a while, I'm surprised you're just hearing about it.

Might have something to do with the pipeline spill. Of course, I'm just some idiot on the internet.

State of emergency in Alabama.

Nearly 250,000 gallons spilled near Helena, AL which is a small suburb south of Bham.

Right near the Cahaba River, which supplies the area's drinking water.

Gubment says not to worry about it though. No biggie.

I've been seeing "pumped 25 gallons of gas into a 20 gallon tank"

Is that what you are referring to?

Same thing is happening here in North AL. Started Wednesday or that's when I first noticed it with cars 2-3 deep st the pumps at Walmart.

Then yesterday saw people filling up and filling cans and heard someone in line saying something about some pipeline or something in TN that busted (just some bullshite rumor I assume).

Tonight the gas station nearest to me is out of everything but premium. She said the owner of the station told her that something had happened down around Pelham, but it was fixed, but the fumes were too strong for the workers to be around so some of the trucks for delayed and they wouldn't have a delivery until 3-4am.

Just goes to show how rumor and panic about gas spread and can cause hysteria. Which I know I am preaching to the choir about this with all the floods, hurricanes, etc most of the posters on here have dealt with.

Oh and the price had jumped a dime a gallon today too.

The gas you get from the station doesn't come through a pipeline.

This is what I just heard at the store. I heard Pelham, which is basically same area.

Exactly, it's people panicking and filling up their cars that causes a shortage
