Pablo had 3 or 4. Now there's like 30 of them. Perfect habitat and no predators, they've expanded their range up and down the river over the past 20 years.

The documentary I saw said there were now close to 100 of them, that the females are reaching sexual maturity much earlier than normal and that they give birth more frequently.

Motherfrickers are going to take over South America.

Very true, stout. The locals loved the guy. As did the Columbian government. He made them a ton of money. Most of it on the downlow. But the CIA funded many of his operations. Our government is not squeaky clean in this story by any means.

Aren't hippo horns worth a shitload in Asia?

Seems like there was an episode of Vice (HBO) about how hippos were being poached and brutally slaughtered specifically for their horns. Apparently their horns are the Viagra of Vietnam. Their horns are worth their weight in gold, literally.

Edit: Nevermind, that's Rhinos. Which, I'm fairly certain, a Rhino is basically a hippo crossed with a unicorn.

Why not just leave them the frick alone? We live just fine with random dangerous wild animals. I'm sure they can manage.

They made half a million per day off of their exports to the USA alone. It's not that hard to believe.

You mean like wild hogs or any other invasive species?

Nope, nothing that could go wrong with leaving tons of dangerous animals with no natural predators unchecked.

Just release some lions, tigers, and cheetahs in Columbia. Problem solved.

I have a good friend from Colombia. He was telling me the school he went to was built by Escobar and how Escobar would bring all the kids new clothes, shoes, toys and bikes every year. Additionally, Colombia was much safer when Escobar ran shite. No fighting over anything because Escobar controlled it all. After Escobar's death things got much worse with everyone fighting for control.....

Los pepes and Pablo were killing and maiming each other at unbelievable rates. Pablo was setting bombs off all over the place. Nothing was safe in Bogota. Medillin and some other strong holds were safer but Pablo flipped the switch when he thought the Colombian government began working with the US to stop his operations.

If he went to a school that Pablo built, it was probably close to Medellin, Pablo's home town. He built high end homes for the equivalent of section 8 housing. He knew how to take care of his own. He also knew that if he had the minds of the people they wouldn't turn him in and it would be tougher for the government to stop him. His paranoia and bombing was his downfall.
