I don't get it either especially in situation where two parties haven't talked to each other for years all because both parties assume the other party is upset with them, which is the reason they have avoided each other.. If they would have taken 10 mins to talk about it, they could have avoided years of creating awkward situations when both parties attend the same event, etc. People are stupid.
