Elvis played Baton Rouge High. On May 2, 1955.

Johnny Rivers went to Baton Rouge High. He changed the name Ramistella to Rivers, from the Mississippi River.

The Who played Redemptorist in 1967. They were the opening act for Herman's Hermits.

I've met several people who were at the show.

Tulane was supposed to be the site of the state capital but that fell through due to scandal. So the land was used for Tulane ... the Jesuits purchased the other portion.

I used to hang out with him at the daiquiri shop on Essen before I moved. He was trying to become a football coach in TX at the time. Still was a really nice feller

This is a cool bit of trivia. Cooler than the Beatles playing City Park in N.O. in '64.

Jerry Lee Lewis's nickname is "Killer" because he would never take the effort to learn anyone's name.

He just always asked, "How ya doin killer" or some similar "Killer" greeting.

Huey P. Long built the new capitol as an 'eff you' to the LA legislature for impeaching him in the senate in the old capitol. The current capitol is the tallest in the country.

He was also told that LSU could not have a football team so he built the dorms in the shape of a horseshoe and the football team was born.

Louisiana was sold by France to the US in the Louisiana Purchase. It sold for $15 million.
