Local news outlet (NBC affiliate) here posted the video of one of the attackers getting shot then blowing himself up in the Turkey airport.

While that in itself is probably unnecessary to do, they went ahead and clickbaited the article on Facebook.

It says:

quote:

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT
**NSFW**
Incredible security camera footage from the Istanbul Airport shows a Guard shooting one of the suicide bombers, then the unthinkable happened:

This is a tv station that has clickbaited articles on Facebook about people getting hurt or killed in the past. Have yall seen this type of stuff from your local news stations?

My opinion on it is people need to stop falling for clickbait and journalism is in the toilet.

The old adage "if it bleeds, it leads" has now been usurped by a race to the bottom because of a number of factors, not the least of which is the untimely death of actual journalism.

I disagree. If it's actual footage of an actual event, I think people have a right to see it. It's sad and horrifying, but it's the world we live in. I don't think media outlets should try and censor life for us.

I do agree with having "graphic content" warnings though.

But this just downright dumb, and I hate this clickbait vernacular. How the hell is it "unthinkable?" I'm pretty sure everyone has heard of suicide bombings by now.

i hate click bait in general. For instance the girl below is always on TIGERDROPPINGS as something like, "You'll never believe what she does next", or "25 photos that almost broke the internet"

I have clicked on her more than once thinking this time they will let me see her tits, but, they never do :(

So they didn't expect the suicide bomber to blow himself up? Journalism in this country is absolute shite.
