Went over to the house this morning to help my Paw Paw with some things around the house. My grandmother made some scratch biscuits with sausage gravy. Good God almighty

Dressing

The kind you only eat at Thanksgiving and Christmas that goes with turkey

What I remember her making is hamburger sandwiches, hamburger patty in the skillet and two pieces of white bread They were good when hungry

Not sure I could pick a favorite.

That said I miss chocolate gravy on buttered biscuits early in the morning the most, along with just chatting with her.

One was an expert with fried catfish and homemade hushpuppies. The other was a master with deer roast and homemade breads and biscuits. Both could make unbelievable pies and cobblers.

I was born later so never really knew grandparents, but my mom has 8 grandchildren and two great grandkids, so I will brag on her fried hot water bread and angel biscuits.

Ham and black eyed peas over cornbread. Damn just thinking about it gets my mouth watering. Made with bacon grease from a jar on the stove.

Roast beef, mashed potatoes, spinach (with hard boiled eggs and bacon), and eggplant (like a casserole)

My grandmother was from Napoleonville and made the best seafood gumbo I’ve ever had. She also made a killer lemon pound cake every time we would visit

My grandma's corned beef hash was amazing, nobody cooks that these days. Also, the shepherds pie was damn good too
