Going up there in August and have been reassured my many locals that it isn't near as bad as people make it out to be. These are pretty affluent white people so I would imagine they aret bullshitting about what they see.

I mean, the city certainly has it problems, and some areas that are to be avoided. But there are still some nice parts of downtown, and the suburbs are still nice.

Yep. Im a huge fan of the Oakland County suburbs. royal oak, ferndale and birmingham are fun. Troy is nice, the Bloomfields are wealthy as hell. I loved Rochester Hills too.

With that kind of money coming in you could build your own suburb.
