I had a friend get killed in a car accident 3 blocks from his home because he simply went through a shallow ditch going 30 MPH and wasn't wearing a seatbelt and it bounced him into the roof and broke his neck.

My friend's wife murder-suicided herself and their year old baby. A certain poster here made a sizeable donation for the baby's funeral and changed my opinion of him

Guy I knew strangled his wife with an extension cord, put her in his trunk, went to work and then dropped her off in the woods that afternoon on his way home. Someone noticed him driving down this private road and thought he was dumping trash and drove back there right after he left.
He is still at Angola obviously.

In his defense, he was a very hard laborer who worked many hours, had two kids in which one was deaf. His wife was a huge lazy arse who apparently started messing around and drained their checking account followed by writing bad checks all around town. Then she served him with divorce papers out of the blue. That threw him over the top. No excuse to murder someone but I still feel sorry for the guy to this day to some degree. He worked hard and and provided for his family. I think she just got into some BBC and drugs.

My roommate from juco killed himself about a month ago.
Came from a good, loving family. Had a great job, hot GF, just bought a house.he liked to party though and apparently was going through a rough stretch with drinking and coke. Got in with the wrong people and hung himself.
When I got the phone call I thought it was his dad inviting me to a wedding.
Still fricking with my head a little bit. Makes me wonder if I had just reached out and been there a little more for him....

My great great aunt said for years that Ervin, her late husband, would talk to her at night. Everyone brushed it as you do with the ramblings of an old lady. Then one day she came around to each house and said that she was saying goodbye because Ervin said he was coming to get her tonight.
Well, she died in her sleep that night.
_______
Now, when I was working in a funeral home we got two calls about twin brothers. One in a nursing home, and one from the hospital. The one in the nursing home had breakfast, went to his room, and was found dead in his bed around lunch. The other twin had chest pains when he awoke that morning so he was taken to the hospital. Massive heart attack and died in the late morning.
Both died on opposite ends of town on the same morning... neither had been told of the other's death.

Industrial accident involving a high school classmate that we never would have expected to be working in that kind of job.

Guy I went to school with flipped his 4-wheeler over on Easter Sunday. He managed to drag himself through the woods to his house and died on his front porch.
His parents found him there when they got home from church that evening.

Wasn't onboard yet, but heard the story of a kid who walked in front of a jet as it was being catapaulted off the carrier. The missile on the wing tip ripped the kids head off and left his body on the flight deck. Flight was diverted to a nearby Navy base where it was discovered the head was still attached to the wing. I'll never walk on the flight deck during flight ops because of that. Do the search on google if you want to, but not recommended for weak stomachs.

Good lord
Back in my hometown, there was a guy who worked for the rock quarry doing demolition work. Set up the explosives and was nearly a mile down the road in his truck when they detonated, rock chip flew threw the back windshield and hit him in the head, killed him instantly. Such a freak accident.

Guy who's wife worked for us, pulled up to a red light next to a log truck. Light turned green, log truck shifted gears and the straps broke.
Full load rolled off the truck onto his car. Needless to say, he got smooshed.

Best friend was struck and killed by lightning at age 11.
A neighbor's 7 year old son was at a flooring store with his mother when he went in the back of the store to use the bathroom. A large roll of flooring tile leaning against a wall fell and crushed his skull as he walked by.

Buddy went hunting. On the way home during a violent storm, the top of a pine tree snapped off and went through the windshield of his Bronco. Crazy shite.
