What is the "science" behind cupping/wet cupping?

Saw it in the latest Phelps commercial. Kind of surprised. As far as I can tell, it claims to increase blood flow and promote healing.

now this wet cupping stuff basically looks like blood letting to me. I don't get it

Don't know about wet cupping but cupping works like a charm.

Wife use to do this on her knee joints. Yes she is crazy.

If she didn't spend so much time in her knees over her lifetime she wouldn't need to do this.

Been around for a long time. Usually done with glass or bamboo.

Helps promote blood blow. That's just what I learned from a class in college. Anything else you'll have to use Google.

Cupping, while effective by itself, is twice as successful as a treatment when accompanied by an ear candle session.

Add the foot wash treatment that pulls the impurities out through your feet and you'll be the picture of health.
