I bought two kids bicycles because theirs were stolen and their single mother could not afford to buy them new ones again.

I waited tables in college. A girl I worked with was a single mother b/c the dude just straight up left one day and never came back. She was an awesome mother, though. I went back and ate there about a year later and left her a $100 tip.
Nicest thing someone has done for me was when I was waiting tables. A rehearsal dinner party left a $50 tip on top of the 20% gratuity. That was huge for a kid who could barely pay rent while in school full time.
