In terms of quality parts and durability. I'm not looking to buy. Just curious.

Rolls Royce is the correct answer.

I don't own a Subaru because I'm not a lesbian but any other answer is pretty suspect...

Toyota Land Cruiser.
Designed for a 25 year life-cycle in the harshest environments. Favored by everyone from the UN to special forces to war lords. Built on a 3/4 ton chassis. There's a reason they cost $85k.
ETA: I thought we were just going for new cars.

W126 Mercedes Benz.
And no, nothing from Toyota, General Motors, or VW can top it although they've all come closer than the rest. There's the W126 Mercedes-Benz, then there's everything else. Not even Mercedes has topped this car since it was last manufactured in 1991.

My parents owned a 94 model for 15 years and didn't give them a lick of trouble. Thing is a tank.

Well they could have, seeing they have the blueprints. I hate when a company tries to under preform.

Much of the worldwide reputation the S-class enjoyed was built on that tank. The brand equity of that car alone sells a lot of lower end Mercedes Benz products today. The W140 and especially the W220 just didn't measure up. I hear that the W222 might be a step in the right direction though.

My 2003 Chevy Silverado has 385,000 miles and still doesn't burn a drop of oil. It has the 5.3 liter V8. The transmission is sadly a different story. On my 3rd one now.

Land Cruiser and it's not even close. And, not that prissy USA model mentioned above. Diesel 90 series.
