Summer of 1993 - summer of 1994. And knowing what I know now it could have been so much better.

2004, 2008, and this year are all too close to call. This year probably edges them out.

05-07 are tied for the second level.

Ive had a pretty phenomenal decade.

Next year I predict. Just starting to make some serious, life changing money. Hitting my stride professionally and got some health issues in check. Now if I could just get the Missus to want the sex more I'd be really good. :bang head:

Oh well, I guess thats why god made mistresses.

I don't really focus on that. Seems like it's just setting you up for disappointment. Shouldn't you be more worried about the present time than focusing on what was the best year in your past?

That literally makes no sense. So you rid yourself of good memories to avoid disappointing future memories?

No, I just meant I don't try to determine what was the "best year". Mainly because the years that some of the happiest things happened to me....also some of the saddest happened.

Ex: The year I got married. One could easily say one of the happiest days of your life(and I still feel that way)....however months before that my grandmother passed away on my bday...the worst bday ever.

Still not sure how that makes the act of remembering especially good years disappointing. A 12-1 year is better than 8-5 year, despite both having losses. Perhaps you focus on the negative a little more than you should if remembering the good years makes you sad.

Gotcha. I likely didn't explain it well. I'm not having the greatest day so that's when I tend to have a hard time explaining things.

Sorry to confuse you, I know what I was trying to convey in my head...guess my fingers haven't gotten the memo to type it out properly

I think it's especially healthy to remember the good stretches when you're having a bad day. Cheer up!

I don't understand the notion of not acknowledging that maybe one year was your best year so far. Who cares if the year you were happiest was your senior year of high school? To acknowledge that and know that you have every opportunity in the world to make any future year your best year is far more admirable than pretending that every year is better than the next.

Sometimes you have shitty years, and sometimes a certain year sticks with you. Doesn't mean that year will forever be your best year, just that RIGHT NOW that WAS the best year.

Nurse: My paternal grandmother died on my youngest sister's birthday. A few years later, my father was very ill and things went really bad during an emergency cardiac cath lab procedure - on my sister's birthday.

My dad lived through that event, and even though she knows it's just another random date on the calendar, my sister still gets a little nervous if a friend or family member is in the hospital on her birthday.
