My buddy once told me to pick my battles and then followed it with:
"Look at me, my wife can't cook or clean for shite but she's hot."

Speaking of customers a former boss told me, "If it isn't worth their time to come in and talk to you in person, it isn't worth your time to talk to them over the telephone."

“Do not ask your children
to strive for extraordinary lives.
Such striving may seem admirable,
but it is the way of foolishness.
Help them instead to find the wonder
and the marvel of an ordinary life.
Show them the joy of tasting
tomatoes, apples and pears.
Show them how to cry
when pets and people die.
Show them the infinite pleasure
in the touch of a hand.
And make the ordinary come alive for them.
The extraordinary will take care of itself.”

Best advice I received but didn't listen to was "enjoy being married for a while and get to know each other more before having kids"

10 months after marriage our first was born...now 12 years later our 8th is on his way...wish I would have enjoyed marriage a little more before kids..but I'm thankful for them! Can't wait until 63 so I can retire.

If it flys, floats, or fricks, it's best to rent it.

1. Keep your money in your front pocket.
2. Never invite "The Man" into your life.
3. Never, ever, date a crazy chick.

This advice has done me well.

Never go around with a married woman unless you can go ten rounds with her husband.
