What is OTs view on adoption?

I have heard that many adopted children have abandonment and other psychological issues due to being left by their biological parents. Is this a stage they grow out of? Is there any adopted OTers or parents of adopted children?

adoption is probably the most selfless thing someone can do.

Have your parents told you yet?

Who would be against adoption?

Strangely rational and reasonable

my wife suggested adoption. I suggested a russian child like this
but we couldn't ever quite agree.

Adoption should be easier to do. I personally think more people would be willing to adopt kids in need if it didn't cost 50k/kid. It's rediculous that people are almost forced to adopt from foreign countries when there are plenty of children here that need loving homes.

More people should do it.

One would hope that adoptive parents would help them overcome that. You know, unless they get sent back.

ETA: This too. I get that the system doesn't want to put kids into abusive homes and wants to make sure they are going to parents that are stable, but from what I've heard it's very expensive and a LOT of hurdles.

Adoption is a great thing generally. As long as you aren't a SJW trying to build a multiracial family
And adoption is permanent. This isn't Walmart. No returns

Adoption is something best done in the state of Arkansas.

Adoption is awesome. I wish the process was a bit easier and a whole lot less expensive.

He's right, unless you want your son to be the next Kapernick. (He was adopted by two white parents apparently)

Or someone doing it just to get the gov money. I would think those people are few and far between though. OP it's a great thing to do but realize it's a permanent endevour so make sure that's what you want.

I wish the process looked out for the child's welfare more. SO and I are starting up the process of going through adoption through the state and CPS's main goal is to put the kids back with the parents. Meanwhile, we need to have multiple home visits, background checks, etc. just to be eligible to adopt a kid. But as soon as heroin addict mommy gets out of prison, she can get her child back with no home study.
