We'd basically be like Canada. Actually, we'd probably just be one giant country.

Now, you can get into details about things like would Mexico still possess their northern areas like Texas and California?

The USA would be better off today, IMHO, if they had gained independence sometime in the 19th century after the British Empire had abolished slavery.

We're the world's biggest power, we're so comfortable and secure that we have to manufacture fake issues to cause problems...I'd say we're pretty well off today compared to say England who has to deal with the shithole that is that country.

Britain and France would have lost World War 1, and Europe would be dominated by Germany. Even moreso than is the case today.

When northern France was overun by the Germans, the Allies lost 2/3 of the charcoal production needed for gunpowder.

Without American production to make up the balance, the Allies would have had to curtail many military excursions outside of the western front.

If the American Revolution had failed, the map of North America would look very different. Much of the midwest and west would be underpopulated and underdeveloped. The Arsenal of Democracy would have never existed.

The flip side is, a victory by the Kaiser in WWI would have meant no Nazis, and maybe no Communists.

We would have finally gained independence by the 1970's most likely.

The West and Midwest were going to be populated and developed no matter who was in charge here in North America

The Louisiana Purchase in 1803 would obviously not have happened. Similarly, the Russians were unlikely to sell Alaska to their rival / enemy. Without a 'national imperative' it is likely Florida, California, Texas, etc would all have remained Spanish.
