For several months there were several out there every time I passed through on I-10 with radar going; I haven't seen one in a couple of weeks now and the clowns are all doing 85mph again.

Quotas aren't due til the end of the month. It's too hot outside to be writing tickets anyway. They will be back come fall.

Memorial Day and the 4th have come and gone. They'll be back soon for the heavy travelling weekends.

LSP doesn't collect any money from tickets. It goes to the parish or municipality in which the ticket is written.

They are most likely called to BR to help out with the protesters and everything else.

As is the case with many other departments in the area right now, i'm sure they have stopped proactive policing (i.e. traffic stops). A lot of departments have enacted 2 man units, upped number of units responding to certain calls, taken motorcycle cops off the bikes, among other things.

Only on the OT is someone upset that troopers are no longer actively writing speeding tickets. Some of you just look for things to complain about

Walkers, Dong Phong, and shite. well home of two good restaurants. But for lunch, not places you would go to dinner.

That was a reference to Kaare Johnson on the radio post-K.

When anyone from NO East would call in on "the cellular device", he'd always describe the East as "home of not one good restaurant".

The problem with truck nuts and crotch rockets going 85 is that they do it up the high rise when traffic is stopped on the other side. Broken down vehicles and accidents on that bridge were the norm and it always led to further congestion . The speed limit is 60 for a reason.

It always crack me up when people find out that speed limit is set by the legiature via LEO instead of by more knowledgeable traffic engineers.

This exactly. 85th percentile be damned.

Better than people going 35 on the high rise getting everyone jammed up from 610 to the curve at Morrison. Once I hit that left curve at 510, I open it up

Besides working their normal shifts they have to cover the French Quarter because NOPD doesn't have people and now they are being sent to BR because of the trouble up there.

the high rise isn't the only problem, there are two near 90 degree turns as well.

But people doing 60 in the left lane with no one in front of them are a much greater threat than a car doing 80 in a clear lane.
