What does your wife spend on a haircut?

My wife gets her hair cut every 2 months or so and it cost like $145 and she feels the need to tip like $20-$30.

When I was married, it was about once a month and somewhere between $100-$150.
I spent $30 on some clippers about 3 years ago and just go in the backyard and buzz my head on a #3 guard once a week.

I know some guys drop like $30, I go to a chain place, whichever one is convenient, and I see women in there...they are like $20 for ladies cuts.
How is it so freaking expensive? We are about to have an argument over this. Could get ugly on the homefront.

Like 45 every 3-4 months. Tips around 20-30 because of the time between and cheapness.

My girl is only $40. I used to go about twice a year but now I go every 6 weeks since its a shorter haircut. Still spend less than a lot of guys.

Serious question, what are they doing at these salons that can't be done at Great Clips for $20. Let's assume Great Clips sucks, wouldn't $50 be a little more reasonable?

A cut and color can take 3 hours or more depending on the client.

cut/color takes at least 90 min. they dont get to keep all the money either. most of the base payment goes to the salon or whatever. color chemicals arent cheap and she found a girl who she likes and does a good job on her hair. i dont think its that outrageous.

The stylist isn't bringing all of that home. A large % of that will go to the owner to pay for overhead costs.
And I'm assuming these higher end places will have higher rents since they are more than likely located in nicer buildings/areas.
